  • What's Included
  • If you have a Smarthome SecureLinc Home Security System set up in your home, you can mount a wireless keypad by your main entrance for easy arming/disarming and programming purposes. The Wireless 2-Way Keypad can be set up at any entry to your home, where it communicates your commands wirelessly to the main unit, and also receives status reports from the SecureLinc, so you'll know at a glance at the keypad's two-line LCD screen if any events occurred while you were out.

Note: The Visonic MKP-150 Wireless 2-Way Keypad will not function properly when the partitioning feature is enabled on the Smarthome SecureLinc 2 Wireless Home Security System or the Smarthome Securelinc 2 Wireless Home Security System with Internal GSM.

Easy Control of Multiple Connected Devices
Use the Wireless 2-Way Keypad to arm/disarm your alarm system, to initiate emergency/fire/panic alarms and to turn lighting devices on and off. This indoor multi-button wireless two-way keypad uses two-way encrypted coded transmission to the main SecureLinc unit, and it also provides aural and visual indications for easy confirmation. Since this keypad operates independently, a burglar can damage it without affecting the main system. In fact, if you program the system to contact you in the event of a breach, it will alert you instantly if an intruder removes the keypad from the wall or damages it.

    Flexible Power Options
The Wireless 2-Way Keypad may be operated either by AC power or batteries (both included). If AC power is used, the device operates continuously, and the system status is constantly updated. If powered by batteries, the keypad enters sleep mode 15 seconds after the last key press, instantly becoming operational again upon any key press. If you choose to use AC power, the included batteries will provide backup power in case of an outage.

mkp-150 2-way keypad Review by Tom
    mkp-150 2-way keypad

It received it on time. The only problem is the mkp-150 chime function does not work. It is set to "Off" on the remote keypad and will not change to "On" not matter how many times you push the chime toggle key number "8". The following link may explain the problem: My Escort Powermax+ is over 10 years old. It may need the firmware upgrade indicated by this web page. I am disappointed that Visonic nor anyone selling the mkp-150 has warned buyers of this problem. It appears that the main control panel must go back to Visonic for this firmware upgrade. I don't know if that means Israel or locally in the US.

How to get rid of Comm Error failure Review by Baldy
How to get rid of Comm Error failure

Good unit ...... has been on my system for 8 years. Yes, comm error is frustrating. But it can be resolved by causing an alarm and clearing the alarm out of the system. This will also remove the Comm Error failure..... at least it has for me about 3-4 times.

Comm Error for Keypad can be cleared Review by Baldy
Comm Error for Keypad can be cleared

This error can be cleared by initiating an alarm and letting it go through to your Alarm monitoring company, but warm them in advance. I have had this error a number of times and this has cleared it every time.

I've had a PowerMax Pro system for about 5 years. The wireless keypad stopped working this year. It produces a comm failure error message which cannot be resolved. Investigation on the internet shows this to be a common issue with this keypad. While it certainly gave me 4 years of trouble-free operation, it's disappointing that I now need to drop another $120 for a new keypad which will likely encounter the same issue, perhaps in 3 months or 3 years. Only other alternative is to buy a different home alarm system entirely.

Replacement solved jamming issue! Too little time passed to confirm that issue of device hanging during screen-saver is resolved. So far, so good. Easy to install and configure...

Once you've learned how to program the main system, programming this keypad is relatively easy. The only way I would have given 5 stars would be if it programmed itself. . . .

I order this product despite the range issues people were having. I have had it for 3 weeks and no problems so far. I have the battery's as well as the A/C plugged in. I will defiantly be adding one more in my master bedroom.

This product does not work and have rescinded my order as a result. I'm surprised that it is still on the market given that the KeyPad Comm. Failure problems have been known for years.
