Smarthome Tsunami Relief

More than 175,000 people perished in the tsunami that hit 12 countries in Asia and Africa on December 26, 2004. The reports of the devastation, along with the video footage and numerous pictures that have surfaced in the aftermath have touched the hearts of people around the world, and the American Red Cross and the United Nations Children?s Fund (UNICEF), along with numerous other charities, have established strong relief efforts to keep survivors alive and begin the long rebuilding process.

In response to the Smarthome employees? desire to send donations to those suffering overseas, Smarthome has made its own pledge: As part of the relief efforts, Smarthome is matching all of its employees? contributions to the American Red Cross and UNICEF, two organizations known worldwide for their immediate response to natural disasters. Focusing on health and medical services and supplies, such as medication and blood, as well as on providing shelter and food to those in sudden need, these charities are already coordinating their efforts to provide short-term and long-term recovery assistance. Please click on American Red Cross or UNICEF if you would like to make your own donation to either of these organizations.
