Using a motion-activated floodlight outside your home is a good way to deter unwanted visitors, but this model takes that concept one step farther because it actually talks to them. Choose from among three pre-recorded messages: "You are tresspassing!", "Warning! You are being videotaped by a security camera!", or the sound of a dog barking. The passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor can be adjusted so it picks up people only from a speecific area, and the lights can be pointed to the same or a different spot. There are adjustments for the range of the PIR (up to 32.8ft) and the time the floodlight remains on. The video camera points the same direction as the PIR and will capture up to 500 video clips (15fps @ 640x480 pixels) per GB of memory (up to 64GB). Most surveillance cameras do nothing about deterring potential criminals, they only passively record whatever happens and you have to hope you got a good enough picture to help find the guy. This camera shines the light of day on trespassers and tells them they had better leave without committing any crime.
You can also set one of three operating modes:
Out of town Light & sounds both come on every time the PIR is triggered
Everyday Daytime light off, sounds on and Nighttime light on, speaker off
Business Daytime light off, sounds off and Nighttime light on, sounds on
We also have this product available with halogen lights but no camera and with video camera and halogen lights.

Rating Led light is bright, picture and video was great in daylight poor at night. Had problem with video could not be seen in the video walking up to front door. No problem with picture mode with being seen. The video must have a delay after motion has been detected. Also like other people I wish it had battery backup for the speaker settings. I don't care for the warnings from the speaker and have to reset it to silent every time I lose power. This unit is only worth half the cost because the video has a delay and no battery backup.

Rating I received the wrong light. I ordered one to match one that I already had. You made it sound like I was confused. I can assure you I was NOT!! Don't think I should have to pay shipping to send a WRONG item back. Love the light I already have though.

Rating Rule this light out if you plan to install it out of reach for two reasons: 1) The default is "Audio Warnings on" which means, if you do not want the auto warning on, you would need to get the ladder out and set that off every time the power goes out (which happens at least once per week at my camp) 2) The display for setting, date, time & picture/video is TINY. It is smaller than the numbers on a tiny digital watch. It is also back inside the unit. You can NOT set that safely if you are on a ladder. You also can not set it unless power is applied, so you can not do it on the ground safely.
This is poorly made and I doubt it will last long. It does not seem to be sealed up and the included parts do not result in a water proof seal on the wall. While I do not expect much from products made in China, this is especially cheaply made.
The camera takes OK pictures, but it is difficult to capture the area of interest when it is low to the ground -- expect this to be taking pictures and missing the person who set it off if they are even close to the camera which is the case if you mount in near a door.
I was torn between 1 and 2 stars but considering the cost ($150) and the very poor quality and unsafe setting of the time/date on a ladder, I can not recommend this to anyone.
On the good side, the LEDs do give about as much light as a 75 watt lamp, but no where near as much as the 150 the box says.Posted on 5/27/2012
