Regarding the garage confusion. If you do a search for skylink keychain, you will see that the description says:

This handy 4-button device hangs on your keychain and can open or close your garage door with a single button press. More info...
Part # 73106KR

People will read that then click on the product thinking it can open the garage door. Smarthome needs to fix this error.

This item is mislabled. It is part of a home security system. It will not work on any garage doors (only skylink systems).

This item was mis-labeled or wrongly advertised. It's not for the garage door opener but rather for their security system. There isn't a way to program it to activate the garage door opener.

We already had some for my elderly father and we needed some more. We use them with an emergency telephone dialer. We place the remotes around the baseboards of his apartment--and if he falls, he can reach out, find a close-by remote and press the red button which dials out for help. They work just fine.
