The Sensaphone FGD-0007 Infrared IR Motion Detection Sensor enables you to remotely monitor movement on your property via a Sensaphone 400, 800 or Web600 remote monitoring system controller. It will send a signal back to the Sensaphone controller when the infrared (IR) sensor detects the movement (via body heat). The Sensaphone controller can then be programmed to immediately send a notification out so you can know the instant unwanted or unauthorized entry to your property is taking place. The sensor's range of detection covers approximately 40 feet directly away and 20 feet side to side, so you can feel safe knowing that your home's security won't be breached without your knowledge. It is independently powered by two internal AA batteries which should last for approximately 3 to 5 years. Multiple sensors can be wired in series to a single input.
Wiring for connecting this sensor to a Sensaphone controller is sold separately. For one-off sensor applications 20 feet or shorter consider using a 20 foot length of 2 Conductor, 22-Gauge/AWG Interconnect Wire or if you are using multiple sensors it may be more effective to by a 1,000 foot spool of 2 Conductor, 22-Gauge/AWG Interconnect Wire.

Rating Very cheap by current standards. Lots of false triggers. Highly sensitive to RF interference resulting in false trigger. I attempted to use this with a security system which employed a cellular auto-dialer. Every time the auto-dialer transmitted a cellular signal the motion sensor would pick up the RF and trigger another callout resulting in an endless loop. When used without the cellular dialer the motion sensor would occasionally trigger for no reason-probably a cellphone or CB being used nearby.
