Receptacles are an integral part of any home and whether you’re doing a new install or simply looking to replace existing receptacles it’s important to know there are options. The Receptacles buyer’s guide will expose you to the different types of receptacles and help you choose the right one for your needs. So whether you need Standard Receptacles (A), GFCI Receptacles (B), USB Charging Receptacles (C) or Smart Receptacles (D), Smarthome has a solution for you!
Standard Receptacles
Traditionally the most prevalent outlet in most homes, these outlets can get scratched and beat-up over the course of their lifetime as a result of devices being continually plugged in to them. Leviton offers a new line of Cheetafh products that replace old traditional and decora outlets with a simple to use system for screwless snap in wall plate. Of course we still offer our most popular Leviton standard receptacles, with a tamper-resistant feature that protects against electrocution, and even a decoara receptacle that is recessed, ideal for areas behind flat screen TV's. All of these outlets come in various colors with different power outputs to match your existing color schemes and power needs.

GFCI Receptacles
Also known as Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter, these receptacles are capable of recognizing if the current passing into the circuit is different from that which is being returned to the circuit. When this happens a GFCI receptacle shuts-off the electrical current to the circuit which can help prevent electrical fires and electrocution. These units are most commonly used in bathrooms, garages and in outdoor receptacles - and anywhere else where there is a potential for water contact or power overload
