  • Infrared (IR) remote controls have limited range and generally only work in the same room as the audio/video (A/V) component it controls. This IR to Radio Frequency (RF) to IR Remote Control Range Extender Kit uses an internal transmitter to convert your remote's IR signal into an RF signal, giving you the ability to control your components up to 100 feet away, through walls, floors, doors and windows. Simply slide one of the rechargeable batteries into the transmitter and switch that out with a battery in your remote control; it works with remotes using AA or AAA batteries (AA sleeve adapter included). When the remote control is used, the IR signal is converted to RF and is sent to a small, AC-powered receiver (RF base station), which is placed facing the components you wish to control. The receiver then converts the signals back to IR and sends them to your components, all in a fraction of a second. Ideal for home theater setups that have components behind closed doors, you have the freedom to move throughout your home and control components that are out of sight. This device operates on a 433 MHz RF signal; it is also available in a 418MHz RF signal.

Important Note: This kit is NOT COMPATIBLE with remote controls using built-in rechargeable battery packs.

The internal RF adapter has a AAA-size transmitter and AA-size sleeve, so it can extend your existing remote control's operating range, regardless of which type of battery it requires. It will work with almost any remote control you'd like. Want to use it with more than one remote? Not a problem: add as many Extra RF Transmitters, sold separately, as you'd like. For homes where maintaining the decor is a primary concern, the system can be hidden from view by using the included IR Emitter.

    Unbelievable Review by Matt

Wish I knew how this little gem converts IR to RF out of the battery compartment, but it does. Stereo is located in basement, speakers outside, remote by pool. Now I only have to go inside to get more beer !!! The receiver is a Yamaha setup with lots of soundfield functions on the remote - every function works flawless. Best investment ever. Only problem is that the little wired IR repeater doesn't stay stuck to the IR receiver on the front of the stereo over time - little tape and problem solved.

Worked great with PRevious Cable box but now having some issues with New Box Review by Jim R.
Worked great with PRevious Cable box but now having some issues with New Box

With the old Motorola Cable box this product worked perfect from any room in the house. That Box lost picture output and had to get new model box with remote. Since then this product is not working as well. I still get some functions to work but not dependable. Looking to see if anybody has had any problems with this when using an Arris DCX3510 m ( motorola) box.I am going to switch out box and remote again as could be issue with used products for cable company. The other unit I have working an Onkyo 626 receiver works great also, even from 70' and outside.

Nextgen remote control system Review by Leo L
    Nextgen remote control system

I bought the system to be used on my boat that has a DishTV system. The instructions were very clear and easy to setup. The unit works great! The TV and Dish box are on the main level of the boat inside a wood cabinet, and our lower stateroom is below about 30 feet away. I can control the DISH box from the stateroom and view the channels on the TV in our stateroom. What a great and simple device to use. Thank you for solving a big problem for us.

We have been using this for over a month. Had to recharge once so far.
We have three tvs hooked up to this: bedroom, outside and kitchen. No dangling wires from walls. I was upset when charter told us we now have to have a box with each tv, mainly because of those ugly dangling wires, which certainly would not be okay with us. We have three tvs hooked up to one cable box in our home automation/security closet. I cannot say enough good things about this remote. The price of the unit is priceless!!Thank you and charter can kiss my grits! We do pay too much, but anything helps!

I know this is for reviews, but has anyone been able to contact the company that makes this product NextGen. I have left 3 voice mail messages and 2 E-mail and have had no response that I know of.
I would like to know if this product works with D12-100 DirectTV receiver and if so, which version do I need to order.
