  • Xantech has designed a network to control your A/V system using inputs from various sensors - power on/off, video or audio signal sensing, etc. This Magnetic Field Sensor Module installs on the AC line cord of any device. When it senses that current is flowing, it sends a signal to the controller. Power is supplied by the Current Sensor Connecting Block.

    This Magnetic Field Sensor is only one of a wide range of sensors to send signals to your programmable controller. Here's the complete list:

    Simple Installation
    Open the sensor head and place around the AC line cord (there's an adapter in the base to accommodate small or large cords). Mount the base with screws if you wish. Connect to your Current Sensor Connecting Block and adjust the sensitivity & time delay controls, and you're finished. The time delay adjusts how long the sensor remains "on" after it stops sensing current.

    Quite how this expects to measure the current draw on an AC mains signal with both live & neutral passing through the magnetic field sensor is a mystery to me (they cancel). Even separating out the live only to feed through the sensor gave very poor results with my Onkyo amp, it is unusable. Sorry.
