  • The Lutron Maestro Companion Dual Dimmer and Fan Speed Control Switch is designed to compliment a Lutron Maestro 300 Watt Dual Dimmer and Fan Speed Control Switch or 300 Watt Dual IR Dimmer and Fan Speed Control Switch. Two Maestro Companion Dual Dimmer and Fan Speed Control Switches can be used, allowing remote control from multiple locations in your home. The Companion Switch is a wall-mounted switch with independent fan and light controls that will allow you to change fan speed and adjust light level as you enter the room, eliminating the need for inconvenient pull chains while enhancing your control options. These Companion Switches can not be used individually, as they do not control a load, and must be used along with a Maestro Dual (or Dual IR) Dimmer and Fan Speed Control Switch, typically in place of your 3-way and 4-way switches. Features a clean, flush, stylish appearance. Coordinate using Lutron Claro Wallplates, sold separately.

Although pricey, Lutron Maestro IR switches are in my opinion far superior to RF remote controlled units since you can easily add control of your lights to the same learning remote control that you use for your television and electronics (one less remote lying around!) The Lutron switches are as easy to install as a standard light switch, but you must take care if you need to remove some of the the metal tabs to make it fit, since these are heat sinks and removing them reduces the amount of wattage that the switch can control.
