  • If you have a Leviton Structured Media Enclosure installed in your home for central control of your home's security and automation, now you can take full advantage of the unit by turning it into an entertainment distribution center as well. The LEAP Digital Distribution Center lets you view or listen to virtually anything that can be stored in a PC on any entertainment system in your home. Combining the functions of digital photo archive, digital music jukebox and digital video server, the Digital Distribution Center lets you easily organize, access, control and enjoy digital photos, music and video from up to 10 sources in any room in the home. Each television or stereo system to be connected will require a LEAP Digital Video Player w/Remote, which acts as the bridge between the Digital Distribution Center and the entertainment outlet.

The LEAP Digital Distribution Center can easily store and distribute up to 120,000 photos on its upgradeable 120GB hard drive. This translates to up to 24,000 songs, up to 120 videos, or any combination of these. From the Structured Media Center, the LEAP Digital Distribution Center can communicate with one or more Digital Video Players over your home's networking system using a standard Ethernet (cat. 5 or 5e) connection. The Digital Distribution Center distributes the homeowner's digital content to the Digital Video Player, which simply decodes that content and sends it to a TV, stereo or other audio/video component.

On the networking side, the Digital Distribution Center can function as a multi-port switch to network PCs and other equipment throughout the home conveniently. With its built-in DNS server, it also can operate as an Internet-sharing residential gateway with commercial-grade firewall protection and act as a network-attached storage device. For networks needing more than 8 LAN ports, connect a Leviton 5- or 8-port switch to any of the eight Digital Distribution Center LAN ports.

Additional features include a commercial-grade hardware firewall to help protect against unauthorized access to the network.

Leviton offers three different mounting brackets to facilitate mounting of the Digital Distribution Center. Choose the LEAP Universal Bracket, the LEAP 16" Bracket for stud mounting without an enclosure, or the LEAP 19-inch Rack Mount Bracket, whichever works best for your system.
