  • This Atomic Digital Clock from La Crosse Technology is a feature packed device that is easily hung on a wall or used free-standing on a table. The clock is powered by 2 AA batteries, sold separately, and upon power-up it will instantly begin locating the radio signal of the atomic clock in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Once the signal is received this clock will display the atomic time which is the official time kept by the United States as well as the date. However, this feature can be overridden and set manually if desired or needed. The time function on this clock can be displayed in a 12/24 hour time depending upon preference and also has an alarm clock function available. Below the digital clock is where the perpetual calendar lists the day of the week and date which can be shown in English, German, Spanish or French.

Indoor and outdoor temperatures are also monitored and displayed on the face of this Atomic Digital Clock. Below the time display and next to the perpetual calendar is where the temperature readings are shown. These can be listed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius, depending upon preference. The indoor temperature range that can be monitored is from 14.2&degF to 99.9&degF or -9&degC to 37.8&degC. The outdoor temperature is monitored by an included wireless temperature sensor which is powered by 2 AAA batteries which are sold separately. The sensor has a transmission range of up to 260 feet and can transmit back to the clock in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The temperature reading range for the outdoor sensor is -39.9&degF to 139.8&degF or -39.9&degC to 59.9&degC.

This product is also available in black, sold separately.

Poor experience. Ordered two, one to replace a similar unit that failed from old age and one for a friend. A couple of days after order was placed came the "out of stock, back ordered email". Wasn't super important that they arrived by Christmas anyway, so just an annoyance in the context of the overall experience of this purchase.

On to the clock itself. FWIW I've had several "Atomic Clocks" and have two others that work well, in addition to the third that failed and was replaced with thus one.

Unpacked clock and remote temperature sending unit and installed Lithium batteries per instructions. Waited for temperature signal to sync with clock, and then set time & date.

Clock will not receive and sync with radio signal. In addition, it's hung over a doorway and when door is opened and closed clock slides to the left side drooping down. It doesn't hang straight or level. Not battery weight as the compartment is centered in the clock. I hogged out the mounting hole in the back of the clock with a Dremel tool to get it to hang level.

I am going to relocate the clock to another wall in an attempt to obtain reception of the time signal. This clock is hung in the same spot as the other - other one picked up time radio signal just fine in this spot just fine. The other two, one in den and one in workshop have good reception.

Remote temperature function works good. Overall, thus clock is marginal at best. Hopefully moving it will enable the radio reception
