Your home is just like everyone else's in one regard: there is always one room that is the wrong temperature. Or you realize you're paying money to heat Junior's room, but he left for college a year ago. You need a zoning system. Use this register with its built-in damper to adjust air flow to one room in your home to get just the right level of comfort. This register/damper is easy to install, then connect it to a zoning controller or a thermostat in the room in question. Powered by your HVAC system's 24VAC circuit. Note: Not suitable for use as a floor register.
The Jackson Systems Wireless One-Zone Control System is available in three sizes to fit most all register openings:
10" x 4" Register
12" x 4" Register (this size)
12" x 6" Register

Works okay, but flimsy construction

Rating I bought several of these to help balance out air conditioning in the house. The mechanical mechanism is a bit flimsy and the connecting rod from the motor to the dampers can come loose. With some needle-nose pliers I was able to bend a hook a the end of the rod to prevent it coming loose. I drive these units with digital outputs from an Opto22 SNAP-PAC-R1 controller based on RTD temperature sensors located on each floor. Very quiet operation.
