  • What's Included
  • Keep track of energy consumption of appliances no matter where you are in the home with the wireless Energy Display. Link up to three iMeter Solo Power Meters to the Energy Display (requires at least one Access Point or dual-band Insteon device) and view the amount of energy your appliances are using at the moment, average amount of energy used per month, and most importantly how much it will cost you to run it each month based on your monthly billing rate. By exposing the costs of running appliances you can determine if it is time to replace that old refrigerator in the garage, unplug when not in use or better yet, connect it to an ApplianceLinc and turn it on or off remotely when needed.

The Energy Display also includes a built-in thermometer for displaying the local room temperature.

    How it Works

The Energy Display is one of many ways you can reduce energy consumption in the home using Insteon products. Other solutions include:
    • SynchroLinc - This allows you to create energy saving macros. For example: when you turn off your TV, SynchroLinc can turn off all your A/V accessories that are plugged into an ApplianceLinc. When you turn the TV back on, the ApplianceLinc turns the A/V accessories back on.
    • SmartLinc - This simple device connects to your router and allows you to log in from anywhere and set timed schedules for lights and appliances - including adjusting of your thermostat!

Coming Soon: Temperature Reporting via Software
If you use ISY-99i, you'll be able to receive an alert if temperature changed +/-2 degrees within a 3 minute window. This will allow the software to display temperature from the room where the Energy Display is located or allow you to set up conditions or triggers for initiating control of other devices in the home. Support will be available later this year.

Requires iMeter Solo to work. This needs to be purchased separately. Wish I had known that.

All this does with smartlinc is provide you with the wattage that is being used by an appliance at the moment that you happen to check it. There is no provision for calculating the cost over time. On reading the thing's description I thought there would be a more useful way of keeping track of what an appliance is costing you.

Limited by just how many iMeter Solo's it tracks (as it says on the web site) Only shows current usage and estimated monthly cost does not tally.

Kind of OK, but not really needed if you have HouseLinc.

Cool idea, I can't to wait and see how the monthly costs turn out. I should have bought three iMeter Solos since the display can work with up to three meters (suggested bundle Smarthome)
