Turn Any Wall Switch Into an Insteon Remote Controllable Switch
Micro On/Off Module keeps your existing antique, toggle or decorative wall switches while adding the customizable, dimmable remote control functionality of an On/Off Wall Switch.
Discreet Installation
Micro Modules keeps your antique, toggle or decorative wall switches by installing behind your existing switch. Due to its hidden nature, we highly recommend Insteon app with Insteon Hub to manage Micro On/Off.
Remote Control
Sometimes the couch is just too comfy and that wall switch is just too far away. Grab your smartphone and brighten and dim your switch to your heart's content.
Schedules
Automatically turn your porch lights on at dusk. Wake up to a gentle pseudo-sunrise at 7AM. You can schedule individual wall switches or full groups of switches for particular hours and days of the week.
Scenes
With the Insteon Hub, scenes really take on a new level. Program one switch to turn off all of the downstairs lights. Configure another to turn on Movie Mode. And because you can schedule scenes, you can give your home that "lived in" look even when you're away.
Remote control with Insteon sensors.
Your Insteon Micro Modules can do so much more when given access to the family of Insteon sensors. With a few taps of the set button or a moment's time with your smartphone, you can configure sensors throughout your home to automatically turn on (or off) the lights based on a variety of different actions.
Doors
There are some rooms in your home that, no matter what time of day, you always end up turning on the lights: Pantries, closets, hallways, etc. With an Insteon Wall Switch and an Open/Close Sensor (or Hidden Door Sensor), you will never need to turn the light on again. And better yet, you'll never need to remember to turn it off.
Motion & Occupancy
Do you play whack-a-mole all day, turning off the lights in rooms that your significant other or children have habitually left on? Turn every Insteon Wall Switch into an occupancy-sensing switch with an Insteon Motion Sensor. And with Insteon, your Motion Sensor can control multiple Wall Switches simultaneously for large rooms or long hallways.
Smoke
No one wants to think about the potential for a disaster, but if one were to happen, make your escape as safe as possible by automatically turning on lights to an escape path when Smoke Bridge detects smoke, fire or carbon monoxide from a linked First Alert OneLink detector.
Garage Door
It's no only cool, it's handy too. Whenever you open your garage door, turn on the overhead lights for easier entry and exit from your vehicle. And while you're at it, turn the outside sconces and walkway lights on, too for that extra bit of illuminated peace-of-mind when you come home late at night.

Hidden Remote
Matt
Rating This remote works as promised. I can walk by and turn on the old fashioned flip switch outside or if I forget to turn the light off, I can turn the light off from inside the house. I am thinking of getting more of these instead of 6 or 8 button control pads. They are cheaper and some stand alone switches just don't need to control lights in other rooms. Like the guest room. They do fit very nicely behind the existing switch.

Works Fine

Rating I put these in ceiling 4x4 boxes that power lights. I have an older home that lacks neutral wires in most switch boxes. I use the Micro On/Off Switch adapter to control the load. I rewire the drop to the switch to supply hot and neutral to an Insteon dimmer or on/off switch. I link the dimmer to the Micro On/Off Switch Adapter. This is an expensive solution, but it works. I could connect the wires from the Micro Adapter to the drop for the switch, but I like the status display on the Insteon dimmer. I prefer to use a dimmer over an O/Off switch because the dimmers are silent, and because they have smaller wire pigtails.

Works with x-10 and insteon - Latching set up.
Chris C
Rating I installed the latching setup for the front lights on the house.
So, I can use the existing standard wall switch to control the front lights, and I programmed the x-10 code to control an existing x10 module in my lamp post.
So, the wall switch controls the two lights in concert with each other.
Controlling it with the insteon app will just control the lights on the house but not the post. - which is great. Nice status indicator in app shows when it is off or on.

Helps Solve a Wiring Problem
David
Rating I have an older house. Not all of the switch boxes have a neutral conductor. I use the micro on/off switch module to solve the problem. The module easily fits in the canopy box. I changed the wiring inside the canopy to connect line and neutral to the switch box for a dimmer or on/off switch module. I linked the micro on/off module and the switch module so that the switch controls the lamp. This approach works for multiple switch controllers too. I haven't tried the local control option.

Rating I used this for X10 control of two pendant light fixtures over a kitchen island. Module easily fits inside one of the ceiling electrical boxes. Controlled the lights from a KeypadLinc on a different circuit. Good instructions. Works great.

Working as expected as in an HVAC system
Luke
Rating I am using this to control an HVAC booster fan along with a wireless thermostat. The system works well.
Pros:
- Small
- LED makes troubleshooting easy
Other thoughts:
- Be careful when using this with the HouseLinc since HouseLinc tends to revert some of the settings (like switching the device back into three-way mode)Posted on 2/25/2015

Rating Unfortunately the 'Add remote control to virtually any switch or outlet' didn't hold true to 2 wire installations. Finding out it will not work in my case and no option to get the same deal on a 4 pack for the switch that would work (even though same unit price). Returning...

Rating Our rear porch light was separate from our Front porch light and lights next to garage doors. Front lights on a 3 way with a switch inside garage. I always thought why didn't they use a four way switch to control all lights. We built a detached garage and I had those light on a timer. After reading reviews I decided to take the plunge. I wanted to keep the toggle switches so I used the Micro Modules. The first switch I hooked up was rear door to garage. They would not link. I called tech support and was told the sub panel and brick wall must be blocking both signals. Luckily I had a extra conduit buried that still had the wires I used to get temporary power to garage while building it. I ran that to a junction box inside detached garage. I eliminated the switch inside detached garage door and used the Micro module as the switch. Never used a switch before anyway. I can always add a remote later. Wow it worked. I must have turned lights on and off a dozen times and giggled every time.
Ok, now onto the three way at front porch and inside garage doors. I opened the cover at front door. Wow what's the extra red wire. I checked box inside garage and it had the white wire with black tape on it along with red. That made sense, but the extra red inside at front door had me confused. I decided to call an electrician. He never called back. So after a night of restless sleep I looked deeper into box and saw a black capped wire?? Ahh, the red must be hot going to outlet on porch. I made white wire common and eliminated a traveler to the other switch just as in video. Hooked both Micro modules and linked all to be transponder and receivers. This is AWESOME. I can now control all my outdoor lights from one switch.
BTW I tested another Micro module in in the garage and now that one is working it links even with the sub panel.Posted on 12/3/2014

Great multi purpose device
Patrick
Rating I just installed this great little device in my over head range. This is being used as part of my HVAC solution which is being controlled by my ISY-994.
When the temperature gets too hot the controller activates the Micro On/Off module to come on for a specified duration. It has been working great for several months and I look forward to integrating more of these in the future.
PRO'S: Small & compact, versatile, dual band, sense wire.
CON'S: Sense wires are too thin and needs to be upgraded. Device needs mounting tabs / ears. Price, this device should really be in the $25.XX range.Posted on 8/25/2014
