  • Turn Any Wall Switch Into an Insteon Remote Controllable Switch

Micro Dimmer Module keeps your existing antique, toggle or decorative wall switches while adding the customizable, dimmable remote control functionality of a Dimmer Wall Switch.

    Remote Control

Sometimes the couch is just too comfy and that wall switch is just too far away. Grab your smartphone and brighten and dim your switch to your heart's content.

Automatically turn your porch lights on at dusk. Wake up to a gentle pseudo-sunrise at 7AM. You can schedule individual wall switches or full groups of switches for particular hours and days of the week.

    Ramp Rate & On Level

With a custom Ramp Rate, you get to set how quickly (or slowly) your lights brighten and dim - anywhere from instantly to 8 minutes. With On Level, you also get to specify how bright your lights are when you tap the paddle, from 1% to 100%.

With the Insteon Hub, scenes really take on a new level. Program one switch to turn off all of the downstairs lights. Configure another to turn on Movie Mode. And because you can schedule scenes, you can give your home that "lived in" look even when you're away.

    Remote control with Insteon sensors.

Your Insteon Micro Modules can do so much more when given access to the family of Insteon sensors. With a few taps of the set button or a moment's time with your smartphone, you can configure sensors throughout your home to automatically turn on (or off) the lights based on a variety of different actions.

There are some rooms in your home that, no matter what time of day, you always end up turning on the lights: Pantries, closets, hallways, etc. With an Insteon Wall Switch and an Open/Close Sensor (or Hidden Door Sensor), you will never need to turn the light on again. And better yet, you'll never need to remember to turn it off.

    Motion & Occupancy

Do you play whack-a-mole all day, turning off the lights in rooms that your significant other or children have habitually left on? Turn every Insteon Wall Switch into an occupancy-sensing switch with an Insteon Motion Sensor. And with Insteon, your Motion Sensor can control multiple Wall Switches simultaneously for large rooms or long hallways.

No one wants to think about the potential for a disaster, but if one were to happen, make your escape as safe as possible by automatically turning on lights to an escape path when Smoke Bridge detects smoke, fire or carbon monoxide from a linked First Alert OneLink detector.

    Garage Door

It's no only cool, it's handy too. Whenever you open your garage door, turn on the overhead lights for easier entry and exit from your vehicle. And while you're at it, turn the outside sconces and walkway lights on, too for that extra bit of illuminated peace-of-mind when you come home late at night.

Great answer to multi-switch circuits! Review by Diesel94
    Great answer to multi-switch circuits!

My home has an exposed lower level. This results in multiple access points to the primary lower level rooms. Because of the multiple entry points, I have at least three, 3 and 4 way switch circuits. I wanted to be able to control the lighting with Alexa, my ISY, and wall switches, but didn't want the cost of buying several $50 wall switches. Nor was I big on the idea of making significant changes to the wiring to accommodate the Insteon wall switches.

This little device is the answer. Hook the load to the device, hook the sensor line to the switch the load was connected to, get unswitched power to the device, and your done. The light can now be controlled through the Insteon network, AND be controlled (on/off) by any of the original wall switches. Plus, it's easy to put everything back to its original state if desired.

In my case, three of these $50± units will do what would've required 8 $45± "smart" wall switches. The only draw backs are the 100w @ 110v load limit (thank God for LEDs), and being able to fit the unit in the wall box. This last point shouldn't be a problem in a modern switch box. In regard to dimming LEDs, this device does a much better job than the regular 3-way wall dimmer switch it replaced.

If this little device proves reliable and has a long life, it's a definite homerun. Time will tell.

Poor Customer Relations Review by TJ
    Poor Customer Relations

In late 2013 I purchased two dimmable micro devices for a project. Later decided to use the SwitchLink dual band switches. Last week I had occasion to get them out of my spares box and install them. The first to get installed lasted 7 days on a 52 watt load. I asked for relief from Smarthome on the 2 year warranty since it was basically used only 7 days....NOPE, we are not going to help out a 15 year customer with hundreds of switch in several homes across the country.

Worked great until my customer added a few more lamps to the chandelier Review by Mike
Worked great until my customer added a few more lamps to the chandelier

Unfortunately, no where on the product description is the power rating for the unit at only 100 watts.

Smarthome response: Mechanical and Electrical information is found in the SPECS tab section on the product's page.

3 out of 4 Review by MC
    3 out of 4

I purchased the 4 pack a few months ago they are easy to set up and work well (when they work) So far 3 out of the 4 had to be sent back for replacement. On 1 the very fragile yellow wire fell off. The other 2 just stopped turning the load on. Both are on separate circuits controlling different sets of outdoor incandescent lanterns. I tried factory reset which is a pain because to access the button you need to pull the plate and switches to get to the module. It would be better if you could reset it from the app. , but it didn't matter anyway because resetting it did nothing.

Beware of the four pack Review by Kolbysaurus
    Beware of the four pack

I added a 4 pack of these to my cart for $100 after I had paid for the order I noticed that the price had changed to $199.

One failed instantly. The others work perfectly, no flickering even on very low dimmer setting.

Smarthome response: Sorry for the confusion in the cart. This may have been that the item was added to the cart one day but then checking out happened after the sale had ended. Either way, next time let us know and we'll honor (or fix) the issue.

Thought I had a use for it, but turned out i can't install it in a box behind a switch. I'll have to wait to see if i can get it in a junction box.

So far it works well. It was a bit difficult to put in the box as I put it behind an outlet. I had to go and get a larger 1 gang box to make it all fit. Overall I am impressed.
