Setting up multiple network cameras around your home and business is a wise way to provide surveillance and security, and thus peace of mind. But rather than installing multiple monitors or checking multiple websites to keep an eye on things, by installing a network camera management system, you'll be able to go to a single source for all of your visual monitoring. Whether you'll be on site and checking in through your network, or away from the premises, logging in through the Internet, you'll always have instant access to the goings-on at your property, thanks to the Panasonic Home Gateway, which provides a network connection for up to 16 wired or wireless surveillance cameras (sold separately).
Network setup is simple, as the Home Gateway's camera management system automatically configures up to 16 Panasonic network cameras; other cameras can be configured manually. In addition, the Home Gateway will enable Internet access, create a custom portal page, and enable multi-level security control. A customized, flexible network for your computing environment is made possible by 802.11b/g wireless communication as well as four switched Ethernet connections. The Home Gateway will simplify the entire process of getting your network devices on line by connecting multiple cameras to the Internet through a single cable or DSL line.
Through its web server, the Home Gateway automatically adds the image from up to 16 cameras on a single web page, which can be accessed from a local network or even the Internet. Just click a camera image on the camera portal page, and that camera's individual screen will open, allowing you to view and control that camera easily. You can even access the camera portal page from your cell phone, for surveillance on the go. The Home Gateway can send an email to your PC or mobile phone if a camera disconnection is detected.
You'll enjoy added security, thanks to the Home Gateway. Powerful 64/128/152-bit WEP encryption helps protect your wireless network from illegal intrusion. The camera management system's built-in firewall helps protect every network computer from hackers. The system can use SSID, stealth SSID, MAC address filtering, and open system/shared key exchange to limit access to your wireless network. You can even view logs of connection IPs, mail transmission, or data communications.
The Home Gateway is compatible with PPTP (IPv4) and IPsec (IPv6) for VPN.
