  • Add security to an area with the Heath/Zenith SL-5718-WH DualBrite Motion Sensor Security Light. When motion is sensed, the Light Control will turn on the fixture for the amount of time you set (1, 5, or 10 minutes) then automatically turn the light off. The built in photocell keeps the light off during the day when it is not needed then allows the motion sensor to take over at night. Manual mode allows the Light Control to be turned on and off with a light switch if desired. The patented DualBrite Timer will cause the light to come on at half brightness for a selected amount of time (Off, 3 hours, 5 hours, or until dawn) after dusk. Selecting Off disables this feature. If motion is sensed while in DualBrite mode, the light will turn on to full bright for the set on-time, then return to dim mode.

    Energy Star Compliant
This model meets the ENERGY STAR guidelines when DualBrite function is off and ON-TIME is 1 or 5 minutes and when used with 120 W Max bulbs.

Wont turn off Review by lightguy
    Wont turn off

My light worked fine for a year now it stays on no matter what setting it's on. This has also burned out my light bulbs twice. Their planned obsolescence worked on me. Don't fall for it. Order a LED motion sensor and never worry about bulbs or your electricity bill.

Not very dependable Review by Rick
    Not very dependable

I am a New Hampshire master electrician, I installed three of these lights in the past two weeks and then back to replace all of them at least once and one of them twice. Not very dependable. I have five of these on my own home and years ago were the best Motion lights out there. I guess things have changed

Same problem as everyone else, this piece of junk will not turn off. Model 5718 is a definate waste of $40. Save yourself the hassel and the money, buy one that works.

Got to watch out for the circuit you place this on... installation literature does not state it... BUT.. when you run into a problem like staying on all night then it could be due to it being on the same circuit as your garage door opener which has an induction motor or any other circuit which has an appliance which uses an induction type of motor...

I mounted mine on the outside of my garage and ran wiring from the same circuit as the motor closest and only available one in the garage area.... So I am read to drop the 5718 in the dumpster..

It works great - you just need to read the directions and then set it up the way you want. Ours was set up to remain on a dim setting all night until we changed it. Now it comes on only when motion is detected, and then turns off completely.
