im in canada we dont do the whole carbon footprint thing as much as the uk which is what this unit is geared for so that whole page is wasted on me, however when compared with my bill the kw/h per month is pretty close to what the meter is reading regardless of the lack of voltage sensor and PF correction.

This is a nifty little device. The display is large enough to be read from across the room, but compact enough to sit on a windowsill or bookcase. I do wish it could measure power factor in order to display true power rather than apparent power but it's still pretty close in most homes.

The system is tracking my power company over an entire billing period correctly, though each day does not agree. I was able to put the sensors and transmitter inside the meter panel and not have to put the transmitter outside which was really great.

I installed the Efergy unit on Dec. 9, 2013 and began collecting data. To date, Dec. 28, the unit indicates I have used 128kW. But the power company's digital smart meter indicates I have actually used 150kW. That's a significant discrepancy. However, I was able to use the downloaded software and enter a per kilowatt hour fudge factor for a second utility and come up with a rather accurate acutual cost. I suspect the discrepancy has to do with the fact the Efergy does not adjust for power factors since it doesn't measure voltage or frequency on your main power lines. Or perhaps the smart meter is inaccurate.
As for the software, it is rudimentary and rather squirrely when trying to connect the Efergy to my computer's USB port and download data. Nevertheless, after you do download the data you can identify those high power consuming appliances using the sticky note feature on one of the graphs. Overall, the unit gives you an idea of what is hogging power but the $100 price tag is about twice what I think a unit like the Efergy should cost.

install was simple, data is good, and a month later I'm already sure my utility company is screwing me on their billing. Device has also proved highly effective in negative-reinforcement training of other housedwellers to adjust their energy usage. Complete win in my book!

Don't know for sure but I think it reads a little low. I use it on individual circuits not the main line but it does do what I want it to.

This item is great and easy to use. I installed in less than 10 minutes and was able to view my energy usage in almost real time. You do need to take the cover off of your primary service equipment panel to attach the sensors to the incoming leads from the exterior meter so it can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing.

Also, the updates happen every 10 seconds. That means if you turn on a light, it will take about 10 seconds to show up on the energy monitor.

The thing I liked most about this over the other energy meters (Such as Kill-A-Watt) is that it allowed me to see what my 220V devices (dryer and stove) as well as my hardwired AC unit were drawing.

I am pleased with the Efergy E2 monitor. It works as advertised, and was easy to install. Instructions are OK, but could be improved. Overall, I would purchase again.
