Make sure your video feed, DC control commands, and IR pulses are reaching their intended outputs. If unwanted DC and/or infrared control pulses are present on the coaxial cable or if these signals are desired but are being shorted out by downstream video products, you can ensure that the proper signals are reaching their intended destinations by inserting a Blocking Capacitor in an individual coaxial cable feed. The capacitor serves like an open circuit to DC and low-frequency IR control signals, yet it passes all RF signals on. These Blocking Capacitors are sold in a package of 10.
An example of usage would be if you have a 12-volt IR system installed in your home but you are not using In-Wall Video-Out IE Interface Plates at all coax drops. In this case, you would simply insert a Blocking Capacitor on the end of the coax.
