  • Connect a dual-detection motion sensor to your security system for immediate, accurate alerts when an intruder is detected in your home. With its 40' x 40' wide angle with 80' curtain pattern, the 40 X 40 PIR/Microwave w/Pet Immunity motion detector will keep an eye on a broad area of your home when your security system is armed, and unlike many standard motion detectors, this smart sensor won't be triggered by interference or fooled by pets.

The 40 X 40 PIR/Microwave w/Pet Immunity motion detector offers a multitude of features that prevent it from delivering false alarms. Quad Zone Logic provides pet immunity to eliminate false alarms from objects 16 inches tall or less, while microwave technology allows free range of movement to pets up to 100 pounds. The 40 X 40 PIR/Microwave w/Pet Immunity motion detector's high-quality spherical lens and dense detection pattern give the motion detector pet immunity superior to single-technology sensors.

This motion sensor detects IR energy changes in multiple areas and then couples them for extremely accurate detections. Quad Zone Logic provides multi-segmented detection zones over the detection area. It is designed so that a human-size target will normally fill 4 to 8 zones, and this will cause an alarm to be generated. Any smaller temperature change (i.e.: small- to medium-size pets, rodents or moving curtains) only activates one or two zones at the same time, creating a much weaker detection signal.

Using a noise reduction current, the 40 X 40 PIR/Microwave w/Pet Immunity motion detector provides high-reliability performance against outside noise, such as electromagnetic interference and especially noise from fluorescent lights, thus solving a problem common to microwave motion sensors. Its Anti-Crosstalk System prevents interference from other microwaves if you have more than one detector in the area.

Additional features include a sealed housing, which prevents drafts and insects from reaching the pyro element of the motion detector. If you don't need the added microwave technology, try the 40 X 40 Pet Immunity PIR Detector instead.

This seems to work ok,but was a pain to install.I have it installed it my church.
I did have to drill holes in the mounting plate, and cut a hole in the case edge near the bottom of the channel for the existing wires to go in as they had to go in from the bottom. It would be a good idea to have a way to make more access holes in mounting plate and at both ends of the channel. You shouldn't have to "hack" it to install it.To bad you cannot tell from the pictures in the sales literature how this stuff mounts.

At first I had trouble with the motion detector not responding. However, I found that it was my error in not pointing the sensor sufficiently downward. After tiliting the sensor downward, I find that it responds propertly.
