For the gentlman in Fort Mill, SC...the reason the bolt wouldn't throw is that you had set it up before you put it on the door. The lock figures out which way the bolt goes by itself...by doing it off the door it was 50/50 if it would work when you installed it on the actual door. If you had reset the lock it would of worked fine. Here is video on how to reset: http://vps-yale.wistia.com/m/9F2BI3

Awesome deadbolt. Bought it, got it, intsalled in 30 minutes. Was very high quality and sturdy. Works great thus far. They did send the wrong color, but thats ok, because i plan on buying more. Cant wait to hook up to zwave. Im confident it will work great.

Excellent product if you can get this to work. The dead bolt will work when it's not fitted on to a door. But, once you have it on the door, it will not work with the keypad or using wireless functionality through any z-wave controller. The product i received seems to have have a defect with the gears slipping and getting stuck.

I've had the this Yale z-wave dead bolt for almost 6 months now, and it has been very reliable and hasn't had any problems. I love that it can remotely lock and unlock the door and can identify who i.e. what passcode has entered the house. Battery life has been exceptional, given that I have set it to auto-relock after a couple of seconds and this thing has a loud speaker that chimes when the number pad is being used or the door has locked/unlocked. I'm at about 70% battery power left after all these months and still on the first set of batteries.

I considered the Kwikset dead bolt but ended up getting this one because it is more weatherized surrounded by a rubber gasket and no tactile buttons, and the Chicago weather here is cold and damp in the winters.
