  • Receive Notification for Alarms or Non-Alarm Events
Program your SecureLinc to call you at any private phone number using the GSM Modem, and you'll receive a pre-recorded message in your own voice in the event of an alert. The SecureLinc also supports 24-hour monitoring by commercial alarm monitoring personnel, who can dispatch police, fire or medical response (depending on the type of alert received). You can even set up the system to call you for non-alarm events. For example, want to know that your kids arrived home safely from school? The system can call you at the office to let you know that your child successfully disarmed the alarm.

Dial In to Activate Security or Automation Systems
With a cellular or standard telephone line connected to your SecureLinc wireless security system, you'll be able to call in to activate any connected home appliances or to monitor your system. You can even arm the system over the phone.

    Dual Reporting Protection
The GSM Modem and the SecureLinc periodically check the connection between them. When this connection is lost, both report a tamper alarm. If either unit is tampered with, the other unit reports the event. This dual reporting protection feature provides double the security for double the peace of mind.

Not sure if it's the unit itself or my cell service, but the RSSI signal is somewhat inconsistent. Seems to range from below acceptable (trouble alert) to as high as 84%. I also thought all of the commands that work on a landline, would work on cell service only... Cannot open one-way or two-way communication from a remote phone (landline or cell). Besides those issues, it's been working great! It would be great (and maybe it does this and I just haven't figured it out yet) to be able to just receive text alerts only to any numbers programmer instead of both text and voice! I haven't had it yet too long, so I'm still discovering and playing around with it. A little surprised that not much of a manual came with the unit.

interfaces well with the base unit, and is relatively easy to configure and install. My only complaints are that it seems to be relatively insensitive in terms of cellular reception; and it's tremendously expensive.

Unlike what another user indicated in their review, the GSM interface can NOT be used with the web interface! I purchased both and it did not work. The web interface does not have have its own power adapter -- it gets its power through the connection to the control panel and connecting through the GSM modem as the other reviewer suggested does not provide enough power.

Unlike what another review indicated, it can NOT be used with the Web Interface. I purchased both and tried plugging the Web Interface into the Aux port on the bottom of the GSM unit as suggested but it did not work. I confirmed with Visonic you can only use one or the other.

    Review of 73903g

Unit was never able to get a strong enough signal to connect. Tried both AT&T and T-Mobile SIMs and every room in the house -- even stood in my back yard, but always poor signal. Cell phones with either of the SIMs I tried always had 3 or 4 bars in the same locations. Returned the unit as defective, but the replacement had the same issue. Seems like awful quality control on this product (look for other reviews online). Was willing to try a third unit, but Smarthome wouldn't extend the 30-day return window long enough for me to be able to receive and test the replacement, so had to return the entire Securelinc system and sensors. A real shame since I really liked the Securelinc system, but no working cellular modem was a deal-breaker for me.

Keep in mind that if you plan to use the GSM Interface that prepaid cell phone plans also work. Also, despite what other reviewers have reported, the Web Interface can be used with the GSM Interface - just plug the Web Interface into the Aux. port on the bottom of the GSM Interface. Five stars!

Not very easy to set up with the SecureLinc system. Does not have all of the features that a dedicated POTS line would offer. Other than that I like it.

Had more trouble getting the SMI card activated from my cell phone provider than getting the unit installed. Which by the way was very easy and once intiated, worked immediately with no problem(s). Getting notifications on my cell and loving it.
