  • What's Included
  • Visonic's PowerMax Express 2-1-1 Wireless Security System is a full-featured, customizable security alarm system that connects in a fraction of the time of hardwired systems and includes everything you'll need to get your home security started. No complicated wiring or cabling is required. Just plug the main unit in, mount the wireless sensors in the zones you want to protect, and you're ready to program the system.

Easy to Program and Control Securely
Programming is easy, using the large, backlit buttons and the LCD screen. You have the option of testing or arming the system at a predefined time, and the siren can squawk when armed or disarmed if you so choose. The PowerMax Express 2-1-1 Wireless Security System supports 28 wireless zones and one hardwired zone and a 100-event log. Additional features include a silent/audible panic alarm, two-way voice/listen in enabling options, and even voice response.

    Internet Connectivity via Optional PowerLink
Verify the status of lighting devices and reprogram security functions anywhere and any time by adding the PowerLink2 Broadband IP Module (sold separately). Whether you're at work or on vacation, you can easily access the PowerMax Express 2-1-1 Wireless Security System via SMS, e-mail, mobile, and regular phones, or a secure web application.

    Built-in Siren and Phone Dialer
When it detects an alarm signal from one of the wireless sensors, the alarm system blasts an 85dB siren that not only alerts your family, but also sends would-be thieves fleeing. In addition, you can program it to call any private phone number (i.e.: a friend or neighbor, your office, your wireless phone, etc.) and play a pre-recorded message in your own voice if connected to your standard telephone or to a cellular network. It doesn't even need its own dedicated phone line! It also supports 24-hour monitoring by commercial alarm monitoring personnel, who can dispatch police, fire or medical response (depending on the type of alert it receives). It can even call you for non-alarm events. The security system can call you at the office to let you know that your child successfully disarmed the alarm.

    Individual User Codes
The PowerMax Express 2-1-1 Wireless Security System supports up to 8 individual user codes, so each member of your household can have an independent code ID.

    Wireless Connections Make it Easy
The PowerMax Express 2-1-1 Wireless Security System comes with a four-button wireless keyfob, two wireless magnetic window/door contacts, and an 85-Pound Pet Immune Wireless Motion Detector. Additional contacts, detectors and keyfobs may be purchased separately. Transmit signals to your PowerMax Express 2-1-1 Wireless Security System using a Keyfob Transmitter. Upon pressing any of the four recessed buttons, this keyfob transmits a CodeSecure™ digital sequence along with a 4-bit function code associated with the button that was pressed. Different digital sequences are transmitted each time, so that malicious code grabbing is almost impossible. The included Wireless PIR Detector is a compact, animal-immune detector, so pets up to 85 pounds won't set off the alarm. With a coverage area of 30 by 30 feet, this fully supervised detector will keep an eye on your home when you're not around. A 40-pound pet-immune motion detector is also available and sold separately. Upon detection of an intruder, the on-board transmitter instantly sends an alert to the PowerMax Express 2-1-1 Wireless Security System.

I had the same problems as the reviewer, however after talking to Visonic and READING the instructions I was able to install the unit. I will agree that the instructions are terrible. I found a earlier version that are are better. The instructions were written by the system designers leaving the installer out of the process. This seems to be normal for alarm manufacturers.
The off Button is the picture of the 'Unlock lock on the keypad, faults are found by logging in as a user, IP address when entering, you must hit OK key twice, etc, etc, etc,. Once again these are poor instructions from Visonic. But, like I said this is standard for alarm product manufacturers and after doing it enough times you become familiar with the unit, so the next one is easier. Its all a learning curve just don't drive your self crazy driving off the curve.

This Alarm is a TOTAL disaster. unmitigated disaster.

The explanation are insufficient. The system properly installed out of the box reports multiple faults which the documentation does not cover anywhere. The troubleshooting part of the manual is half a page long and totally inadequate. Don't ever install a zone/device and try to take it back/disable.

Adding the IP module was a move to hopefully simplify setup and admin. The web admin is useless in many ways. No way to investigate faults. No way to reset faults or reset the settings causing the faults. No way to administer zones only reporting from them. No way to bypass zones. The web admin manages about 20% of avalailable commands in the key panel. Key Panel are the latest of 1975 technology, The manufacturer is not trying to bring us up to today's best practices in any meaningful way. My favorite is the panel asking you to confirm deletion by pressing OFF button when there is no such button.

unusable in NOT READY mode but no explanation keypad or web as to what cause. out of the box no telephone line and memory problems trouble reported. disabling telephone is 5 menu levels and only available on keypad. still no documentation on how to handle memory issue. is the unit busted?

Manual IP address get forgotten and wiped requiring constant re-entering.

finally NO PHONE SUPPORT FROM MANUFACTURER if you are not a professional installer.

Smarthome should not be selling this product and being a long time customer SH seal of approval took a big hit on this purchase.
