  • What's Included
  • Need a smart, fast and cost-effective method of connecting VGA monitors and projectors in one room with source equipment in another? It's now easier than ever with VideoEase VGA Baluns that make it possible to send VGA signals over affordable unshielded twisted pair cable (i.e. Cat. 3, Cat. 5E, etc.) instead of the more expensive coaxial cable. And since unshielded twisted pair cable is also more pliable than coaxial cable, it's easier to install in walls, attics and crawlspaces. If you have a home network, you may even have existing runs of Cat. 5 already installed, making these VGA Baluns a true win/win solution.

These baluns are ideal for hundreds of applications. These include homes, classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, retail kiosks, video information displays, on-line advertising, tradeshows, hotel and convention centers, mobile presentations or anywhere else there may be collaborative viewing.

And if you're worried about diminished picture quality, don't be. You won't lose one bit of detail during the conversion. In fact, the resolution over unshielded twisted pair cable is often superior to some coaxial cable runs with splices. Depending on the type of video card you're using, the baluns can support up to 1280 x 1024 pixels. System includes one male and one female balun. The maximum length of cable supported based on the resolution is as follows: SXGA: 1280x1024 pixels (100MHz) 200ft (61m), XGA: 1024x768 pixels (60MHz) 250ft (76m), SVGA: 800x600 pixels (30MHz) 350ft (107m), VGA: 640x480 pixels (15MHz) 450ft (137m)

If the PC/Laptop or monitor projector does not have a built-in 3 prong AC power supply, then shielded twisted pair (STP Cat-5) must be used between VGA Baluns. The STP must be terminated with shielded RJ45 connectors.

Works as advertised. I used these with the TV Box TV-to-VGA Hi-Res Converter to use a monitor for a TV in my office. I can switch between TV and computer and send the signal to a 24 inch monitor accross the room! This was a whole lot less expensive than buying a flat screen TV and is more versatile.

Didn't work at first - make sure VGA cable you use has all 15 pins in it. Didn't need a shielded CAT 5.

Worked great, just did not realize that you need shielded CAT-5 for plasma displays. No big deal just ran a ground wire.

Perfectly fit my needs. Was surprised it worked as well as it did considering I was going through 4 separate pieces of cat-5 linked by wall jacks & couplers.
