To control an INSTEON-Compatible product using RemoteLinc, you will need to link the RemoteLinc and the device together. For the purposes of this video, we’re going to show you how to link the RemoteLinc to a LampLinc. So let's get started.
In order to use the RemoteLinc, at least two INSTEON AccessPoints must be installed installed as part of the INSTEON network in your home.
Currently, this LampLinc controls that lamp.
As you can see, there are six ON/OFF Button Pairs. Choose the ON/OFF Button Set that you want to use to control the Lamp. The UP button is ON and the Down is OFF. You can link one device or multiple INSTEON-Compatible devices to a single ON/OFF Button Pair.
Now, set the RemoteLinc into Linking Mode by pressing and holding the ON button for 10 seconds until the Status LED lights start blinking. 10 seconds is a pretty long time so hold on and be patient. Keep in mind that after 4 minutes RemoteLinc will automatically exit Linking Mode.
Over here at the LampLinc, press and hold the SET Button on the side of device for 3 seconds, or until you see the lamp flash. When the LampLinc is successfully linked, the RemoteLinc will beep and the status LED will stop flashing.
Test that the linking is successful by pressing the ON and OFF Buttons on the RemoteLinc.
And that is how you link a RemoteLinc to control a LampLinc. These directions and more can be found in our manual or online at smarthome.com
