Programming the Ramp Rate on a SwitchLinc Dimmer

In this lesson, you are going to learn how to set the Ramp Rate on a SwitchLinc Dimmer. The Ramp Rate is the speed at which the controlled light turns on or off. By default, the Ramp Rate of the SwitchLinc is set at 0.1 second, which turns the light on virtually instantaneously.

Choosing Desired On-Level
  • Hold down the Paddle Top or Bottom to adjust to your desired Ramp Rate. Adjust the Ramp Rate to be faster by brightening the light, or slower by dimming it. The Ramp Rate Table gives the approximate relationship between the brightness you set and the Ramp Rate you get.

  • After you have set the brightness level that corresponds to your desired Ramp Rate, double-press the SET Button at the bottom of the paddle. The light will flash once to confirm the setting.

BE CAREFUL: If you get two flashes of the light, you didn’t double-press the SET Button fast enough, and SwitchLinc Dimmer incorrectly thought you set up the On-Level twice. Re-set the correct On-Level and try the Ramp Rate setting again.
Testing
  • Turn the light OFF and then ON again to make sure it is set to your desired Ramp Rate.
