- What's Included
This is no ordinary wall switch. Insteon Wall Switches can be remotely controlled from almost any device in your home: Sensors monitoring doors, windows, leaks and more, remotes, keypads and other wall switches throughout your home, even your smartphone when used with the Insteon Hub.
On/Off or Dimming
Whether you need the raw switching power of our 1,800W-relay-based On/Off Switch or the gentle dimming grace of our traditional Dimmer Switch, there's an Insteon Wall Switch to fit your switching needs.
One of the most powerful features of Insteon switches, Scenes let you control multiple devices simultaneously with a single tap. Brighten all of the lights in an entire room with a tap-and-hold or create infinite virtual multi-way switches.
No wall switch is more customizable. Change the paddle color to suit your décor needs. Swap out the LED light pipe for personalized colors. You can even custom-etch text onto the switch paddles for ease-of-use in multi-gang switch boxes.
Remote control from your smartphone.
Your smartphone is your best friend. And with the Insteon Hub., your smartphone is your Wall Switch's best friend, too. Use your smartphone or tablet to control and configure your switch for the ultimate in remote control.
Sometimes the couch is just too comfy and that wall switch is just too far away. Grab your smartphone and brighten and dim your switch to your heart's content.
Automatically turn your porch lights on at dusk. Wake up to a gentle pseudo-sunrise at 7AM. You can schedule individual wall switches or full groups of switches for particular hours and days of the week.
Ramp Rate & On Level
With a custom Ramp Rate, you get to set how quickly (or slowly) your lights brighten and dim - anywhere from instantly to 8 minutes. With On Level, you also get to specify how bright your lights are when you tap the paddle, from 1% to 100%.
With the Insteon Hub, scenes really take on a new level. Program one switch to turn off all of the downstairs lights. Configure another to turn on Movie Mode. And because you can schedule scenes, you can give your home that "lived in" look even when you're away.
Remote control from another Insteon device.
Insteon devices throughout your home knit together a web of control, enabling some of the most customizable and configurable control options that put even the most expensive home automation technologies to shame.
The Infinite 3-Way
With traditional wall switches, control from multiple locations, like in a long hallway, requires special dedicated wiring. Great if you're building anew, but almost impossible to retrofit. With Insteon, every wall switch can control every other wall switch, no extra wires needed. Just a few taps of the set button and you've made a 3-way switch. Want to add another? Make it a 4-way - or 5-way. There's no limit to Insteon's multiway switching.
Sometimes you have to wonder what the electrician was thinking when he wired your home. The light switches are on the wrong end of the room, behind doors - just in the wrong places. With an Insteon Wall Switch and a Mini Remote, you can put a wall switch anywhere you want. Mount one on the wall by your nightstand. Give one to your kids and let them investigate the monsters under their bed.
With at least one light switch in every bedroom, multiple in every bathroom, a myriad in the living room, den, kitchen and dining rooms, you might have 40 or more switches to manage in your home. With an Insteon Keypad, you can quickly control all of them for instant an instant "good night."
Remote control with Insteon sensors.
Your Insteon Wall Switch can do so much more when given access to the family of Insteon sensors. With a few taps of the set button or a moment's time with your smartphone, you can configure sensors throughout your home to automatically turn on (or off) the lights based on a variety of different actions.
There are some rooms in your home that, no matter what time of day, you always end up turning on the lights: Pantries, closets, hallways, etc. With an Insteon Wall Switch and an Open/Close Sensor (or Hidden Door Sensor), you will never need to turn the light on again. And better yet, you'll never need to remember to turn it off.
Motion & Occupancy
Do you play whack-a-mole all day, turning off the lights in rooms that your significant other or children have habitually left on? Turn every Insteon Wall Switch into an occupancy-sensing switch with an Insteon Motion Sensor. And with Insteon, your Motion Sensor can control multiple Wall Switches simultaneously for large rooms or long hallways.
It's no only cool, it's handy too. Whenever you open your garage door, turn on the overhead lights for easier entry and exit from your vehicle. And while you're at it, turn the outside sconces and walkway lights on, too for that extra bit of illuminated peace-of-mind when you come home late at night.
Cases for your Switches
You've got this fancy new remote-controllable Wall Switch, so why blemish it with that old chipped and discolored wall plate? Insteon Wall Plates add that extra bit of frame and polish. Oh - and they are screwless, so all you see is your fantastic new switch.
Match your décor with our seven custom switch colors. Switches can be ordered in White, Ivory, Light Almond, Almond, Brown, Black or Grey. For a truly custom look, you can change out the switch frame, paddle and wall plate for a total of 343 unique combinations.

- These switches saved a ton of time Review by JPR
These switches saved a ton of time
I had a situation where I wanted to separate lights controlled by two separate switched to operate in concert. Was looking at ripping apart walls and ceiling to change wiring when Insteon came to the rescue. Simply replaced both switches with these switches, linked them together, and voila a "magic" 3-way switch system with both lights controlled in unison by either switch!

- Didn't last long Review by Blair
Didn't last long
Installed in my dining room for the light. Easily linked in with the rest of the system and the isy but it didn't last as long as I would have liked. I believe I had it working for about two years and then one day it just stopped. Went through customer support and did everything they recommended but life would just not come back into it. I'd like to get a new dimmer for the dining room but I don't think I'd buy this model again.

- Very happy with Dimmers Review by Newbully
Very happy with Dimmers
I have probably 10 dimmers and several more switches. All of them operated with the ISY994 and they work well and look good as well.

- Caution Review by BW
Use caution with this company. Of the two dimmers I opened one did not work. Called SmartHome, waited on the phone for 50 min to request exchange. I could either order a new one and be refunded after they received the defective unit or they would ship a new one out only after receipt of the defective unit. I chose to order another one and they wouldn't honor the new sale price (Cyber Monday). Caution here..I should have ordered from Amazon.

- UNRELIABLE, SMARTHOME doesn't stand behind their product. Review by LUKE
UNRELIABLE, SMARTHOME doesn't stand behind their product.
I was a big adopter of insteon device but now i'm a bit sorry that I did. Several months ago, dimmers start to malfunction, does not turn on, and rocker doesn't respond to presses. I replaced my whole home with insteon product about 6 years ago and about half of them are broken and do not turn on anymore. Please for your own benefit think about having to replace your switch every 3-6 years, their warranty is only 2 years. Sure nothing last forever, but I do not plan to replace all my switches every 5 years. I brought them in and they said, that's an old revision and we don't support that anymore. I'm just very disappointed to be stucked with all these relatively expensive switches. Please think twice before committing to replacing your whole house.

- Switchlink 3-way, remote control, and anywhere switch does not work Review by vl001
Switchlink 3-way, remote control, and anywhere switch does not work
None of the following features listed on the instead site work on switchlink controlled by Hub Pro/ Insteon+ App. Instead tech support was useless in resolving the issue and confirmed this feature will not work. Nowhere on the web site does it state the features do not work with the Hub Pro or the App, the latest hub and app release.

- Instruction not clear Review by Amine
Instruction not clear
The thermostat works , however programming as per the instructions doesnot work properly
If the thermostat temperature on hold, the user cannot see if the hold still on or not unless it is on AUTO mode, this design need to be changed to be more user friendly
also the manual is not clear enough.

- Great idea, terrible quality Review by an unhappy customer
Great idea, terrible quality
an unhappy customer
When I remodeled my house six years ago, I specifically wired all the switches for using Insteon. Most of the loads controlled are either halogen, incandescent or LED lights, all well within the max.wattage guidelines including multiple switch/box allowances.
Insteon switches are very versatile and cleverly designed to provide incredible programmability.
However, the quality leaves a lot to be desired. I have a box full of dead units. Some just quit and went blank; some go into a continuous on/off loop, others have a worn out micro-switch so won't turn on unless you press the paddle really hard. Laughable but sad, a couple of the switches that died were not even connected to a load !
My reward for such a big investment in Insteon switches, outlets, remotes, PLM, Hub etc.? spending about $200/year on replacing defective switches and keypads.
Smarthome responded to a previous post saying there have been improvements in the components. That's great, but of no use to me when the next out-of-warranty switch or keypad dies.
