  • What's Included
  • Need a smart, fast and cost-effective method of connecting the S-Video devices in your equipment rack to a TV or video projector in another room? It's now easier than ever with VideoEase S-Video Baluns that make it possible to send S-Video signals over affordable unshielded twisted pair cable (i.e. Cat. 3, Cat. 5E, etc.) instead of expensive S-Video cable. If you have an existing home network, you may have unused runs of Cat. 5 already in place, making these S-Video Baluns a true win/win solution. This Stereo S-Video Balun for Cat. 5 Cable will even send stereo audio along with the S-Video signal over the same inexpensive cat. 5 cable.

Great for Cable Runs up to 1,000 Feet
These baluns are ideal for hundreds of applications. These include homes, classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, retail kiosks, video information displays, on-line advertising, tradeshows, hotel and convention centers, mobile presentations or anywhere else there may be collaborative viewing. And if you're worried about diminished picture quality, don't be. You won't lose one bit of detail during the conversion on cables as long as 1,000 feet.

Note: You'll need two identical baluns for every cable run (one for each end of the cable). Baluns are sold individually.

    Available Without Audio
If you don't need to run audio signals through the same Cat. 5 cable, use the S-Video Balun instead.

A little pricey - but works like a charm. I use it to deliver Security camera video to a secondary TV unit.

I was skeptical about this device working properly, but was pleasantly surprised when I hooked it up. I use it for sending left and right audio out of my PC running iTunes over to my main stereo system via my in-wall CAT5 wiring. The wiring is all home run back to my wirirng closet. So the audio and video are also going through a CAT5 rated patch panel. The total length of the run is about 250 to 300 feet, maybe more.

The audio sounds just fine as there is no subjectively noticable impairments or loss. I also connected our camcorder (tape) to the S-video and noticed no degradation in the picture. Eventually I'll send the PC monitor output over to the main TV to display the album and artist info.
