Worry-Free Pet Care When You're Away From Home
Whether you're planning an overnight business trip or a resort vacation, you don't need to plan to send your pets away to a kennel when, with a few smart pet products, you can keep them happy and healthy at home — without the hassle of finding a friend or neighbor to feed them while you're away.

The first element of keeping pets healthy and safe during a vacation is to make sure they have access to enough food. The tricky part is to make sure they have the right amount of food on each day you're gone, so that they don't overeat their supply the first day and don't have enough for subsequent days. Fortunately, Smarthome offers several solutions that give pets pre-measured, regular meals at any time of day you choose.
Our premium solution is the Auto Pet Feeder, which, depending on the size you choose, can hold 5, 10 or 20 lbs. of dry dog or cat food. Just place it on the furniture or countertop and plug it in, and if your pets try to sit on it, they'll feel a harmless correction, similar to a static electricity carpet shock. It usually only takes once or twice before pets get the idea and stay away for good.
To keep pets away from a specific room or zone, the Scraminal may be the best option. This motion detector emits a high-pitched tone designed to repel cats and dogs when your pet approaches the area you want to protect.
To keep pets away from outdoor areas, like flower or vegetable gardens, we recommend using an Ultrasonic Motion Sensor. Simply place this unit in the area you want to protect, and when the built-in motion detector senses motion, it emits a piercing, high-decibel ultrasonic alarm that only animals can hear. It's also great for keeping strays out of your yard.

In addition to keeping dogs away from out-of-bounds areas, you may also need to incorporate steps that keeps them quiet, so they don't needlessly disturb neighbors throughout the night. That's where the Bark Smart Deluxe comes in. When it detects the sound of a dog barking, it emits a harmless but uncomfortable ultrasonic tone that only dogs can hear. Although the sound causes no harm, most dogs don't like it, and will learn to keep it off by not barking.
