- What's Included
The Sensaphone 800 Monitoring System offers an easy and inexpensive way to monitor your property. When the system is connected to a standard telephone line, users can record custom “Alert Condition” notifications and receive alarm messages in their own voice. This system can set off a local alarm if a phone line is cut and control a thermostat to adjust site temperature between two set points. Nonvolatile memory retains system settings in the event of power loss. The status of each monitored condition is readily obtained at the unit’s installation site or remotely by telephone. The Sensaphone 800 can be installed in nearly any clean indoor environment and will alert you by phone conditions requiring your attention. * The diagram above shows features from the Sensaphone 400 - The Sensaphone 800 provides an additional four inputs and four phone numbers.
Out of the box, the Sensaphone 800 has built-in sensors for temperature, noise and power failure. You can expand the monitoring capabilities of the Sensaphone by using any of the eight inputs for sensors, so long as the sensors use normally-open or normally-closed contacts. The eightavailable external inputs allow users to connect a variety of sensors to monitor temperature, water, humidity, and more. Each zone can be calibrated, enabled, or disabled individually – with fully automatic input configuration. The system can monitor for power failures and listen for high sound levels. With built-in status LEDs, each monitored condition is easily read at the installation site or remotely by telephone.
The built-in output relay can switch external devices on or off automatically or manually – tripping local lights or sirens. The output can even control a thermostat to adjust site temperature between two set points. With built-in surge protection on all zones, the unit power supply, and the connected telephone line guard against voltage spikes.
When connected to a standard telephone line, the system allows users to record custom voice messages. In the event of an alarm, the system can send these “Alert Condition” messages by phone to as many as four people – repeating those calls until it receives a response. A line-seize feature automatically disconnects extension lines when the system needs to call out.

An enhanced version of the model 1108, which this unit replaced in our application. It is working well and we are pleased with it. Our sound recorded messages were good, but included a noticeable background hum. Our recordings were certainly understandable, but not as good as the sound quality of the canned messages.

We have the older version of the Sensaphone 800 installed. It has been up and running in our home continuously for seven years, now, and has prevented major freezing damage on several occasions. We have it connected directly to our oil burner's fault terminals. If the heating system goes into lockup, if the power goes off, if the temp in the house goes too high or low, if the smoke alarm goes off in our boiler room the unit has a noise sensor we know it within minutes -- regardless of where are -- since the Sensaphone dials out to all of our numbers. In a word, this unit is awesome. It's easy to configure, too. Anyone who has a home that they are away from for more than a day or two at a time should definitely consider getting one.
