To Return an Item, Please Follow These Steps:
- Login to My Account to start your return process. Note: using this online service requires that you log into your account. All returns are processed online. Exceptions include cross-shipment returns (replacement item sent before we receive your return) and INSTEON products. If you have a cross-shipment return, contact our Customer Solution Center at 800-762-7846, Mon-Fri 5:00am-7:00pm and Sat 6:00am-3:00pm, all times PT.
- For INSTEON product returns or exchanges, contact our INSTEON Gold Line at 800-762-7845, Mon-Fri 5:00am-7:00pm PT. You'll need the revision number from each product you wish to return. If you're unsure of the revision number please see instructions for locating INSTEON product revision numbers.
- Once you receive your RMA #, write it on the outside of the box & include a copy of your invoice.

- Your return must be within 30 days of shipped date, in new condition and in the original packaging (refunds exclude shipping fees). Defective items returned within 30 days will be replaced at no cost to you - we pay for shipping expenses on the replacement of defectives. After 30 days please call the manufacturer for defective returns/warranty coverage. Most Smarthome branded INSTEON products carry a 2 year warranty and may be returned or exchanged by calling the INSTEON Gold Line at 1-800-762-7845.
- Credit card purchases will be refunded back to the original card. Purchases made with checks, cash, or money orders will be refunded by check.
- Smarthome is not responsible for returns lost or damaged in shipment.
- Clearance items are not eligible for return unless defective and must be returned within 30 days to receive merchandise credit towards a future purchase.
- Direct Ship and Special Order items are not eligible for return unless defective. Please see product page for defective return details.
- Open Box items, Books and Software are not eligible for return. All Open Box, Books & Software sales are final.
We will process your return within 5 business days. Please allow up to 2 credit card billing cycles for your credit to appear on your credit card statement.
Although Smarthome fully supports manufacturers' warranties, our return guarantee does not include freight charges for international returns. If for any reason you choose to return a product from outside the United States, international shipping charges must be pre-paid.
Protect your investment by adding an extended warranty. Extended warranties of up to 7 years are available for certain Smarthome and third-party products. To purchase an extended warranty, simply add the warranty to your shopping basket from the product page.

Please see the original manufacturer's warranty (available on most product pages) for specific details on covered material and workmanship defects as well as limitations on warranties. Certain products will need to be returned directly to the manufacturer rather than to Smarthome; the original warranty will instruct how and where to return the product for repair or replacement.
