Product Support/Customer Service Phone Rep in Smarthome's Customer Solution Center (Non-IT Position) - Part Time
We're currently looking for a "STAR" product/customer support professional who has great listening skills; a strong desire to assist customers and a strong aptitude for electronic "techie" products to join our well established Customer Solution Team. Ideal candidates will love gadgets, understand electronics, wiring and technical products (products like security systems & lighting controls) and either have work experience at Circuit City; Fry's; Best Buy type stores or spend hours in them.

You will be expected to take a high level of calls, online chats & emails from customers, helping them with everything from RMA's to orders to product technical questions. We are looking for a high energy person who enjoys helping people and loves gadgets & electronic products. Smarthome is a strong online company w/a prominent catalog presence & an on-site retail store in Irvine, California.
We are looking for someone who will provide excellent customer care - from placing orders to taking care of returns of products to technical product questions, we are looking for someone who has exceptional listening skills; exceptional patience & is an "outside the box problem solver". Our customer is our #1 asset and you will be part of the team that takes care of them. You will be helping customers diagnose problems they are having in their homes and you will be expected to provide suggestions of products and solutions for them.
You will provide support on many of the technical aspects of our products. You will need to be able to clearly communicate highly technical information and simplify it for customers.
You will be responsible to take part in our online chat & answer emails as well as field phone calls.
We will provide you training on our products and you will have the opportunity to take home products for free to use them in your home environment.
High school diploma
Minimum - 1 year of Technical Support & Customer Service experience
Knowledge of home automation and X-10 technology is a plus, but not required
Knowledge of house electrical wiring, A/V distribution, and surveillance is a plus, but not required
Typing 50 WPM
Must be a team player & an "outside the box" problem solver
Must be "technically" oriented
Must have exceptional listening skills
Strong work ethic - you won't be bored at your job
