  • The cost of electricity can really hit you where it hurts-your wallet. Now with Kill A Watt you can reduce your energy costs by identifying the real energy abusers. Simply plug your appliance into Kill A Watt and assess how efficient it really is. The jumbo LCD display measures consumption by the kilowatt-hour, just like your local utility company, so you can quickly calculate costs. It's perfect for seeing how much juice that freezer in the garage is sucking up, or to see how much it costs to keep your computer on throughout the day. Measuring appliance consumption is just the tip of the iceberg. By plugging this in, you can also test if an outlet is working, or evaluate the quality of the electrical power provided by your utility company. It does this by monitoring voltage and line frequency. It's perfect for detecting voltage drops around the house, to predict brownout conditions or to make sure a new home's outlets are in working condition before escrow closes.

Imagine being able to forecast your electric bill before you get it. With the Kill a Watt, you can calculate electrical expenses by the hour, day, week, month, even year. With accuracy within 0.2%, you can safely know what to expect your expenses to be.

They thought of everything. Power consumtion measured real time or over any period of time. This device works great and is super easy to use! What a bargain.

Been using a Kill-A-Watt since my college physics professor showed off how useful the thing is. It is coming in super handy right now as I am trying to lower my electric bill.

Unit performs exactly as described. It is a valuable aid in viewing electical device current useage, such as window A/Cs. I have proved buying new A/Cs with higher energy ratings is cheaper than usng older ones over a one year period.

So far I have not been able to get it to work. The intent was to get information about how many watts I use so I can determine solar energy needs. But so far nothing seems to register. I intend to call Smarthome to find out the problem.

I love this product. It does exactly what it's advertised to do. Easy to use...just plug it in! Wow...I can't believe how much my old fridge is consuming. Now I can justify buying a new one.

Great product! You'll be amazed how much electricity is used even while electronic devices are sitting idle. Unplug 'em NOW!

Not quite as nice as the Watts Up Pro ES, but does the trick. Fairly easy to upgrade for wireless monitoring with the tweet-a-watt kit from adafruit dot com.

It it an excellent value for the money. Product could be improved if readout were able to swivel or ratchet for easier reading. A short extension cord can solve this problem.
