- What's Included
With the HL841 by Leviton Security & Automation, you can automate lighting in up to four rooms from a single location. It has built-in infrared (IR) sensors for remote control from a variety of locations in your home or business. Use this remote to dim and brighten lights, turn lights on and off, or preset lighting scenes. Setting a scene, such as reading, watch TV, or dining, is easy and does not require any programming or software.
The HL841 is compatible with devices that are using the UPB (Universal Powerline Bus) technology to communicate with one-another on a three-phase 120/208VAC delta-wye, 60Hz powerline. UPB-compatible devices feature an advanced communication technology that uses your existing power wires, so no rewiring is necessary in order to use this controller. The HL841 has four separate IR codes for each button so that it can be use to control up to four scene switches with IR receivers. It features 12 push-buttons for remote control of lighting scenes in up to four rooms.
UPB benefits include its higher reliability, since its signal strength is stronger than X10, with increased electrical noise resistance. UPB technology allows enough individually addressable devices to control even large residential environments, usually without the need for phase coupling and without affecting or being affected by adjacent home environments.
