- What's Included
The Leviton Security & Automation UPB Plug-in Appliance Module utilizes Universal Powerline Bus technology to allow users to remotely turn an individual appliance On/Off. The Appliance Module plugs into a standard 120V household AC outlet and the UPB technology uses your homes’ existing electrical lines to communicate which allows for a reliable and strong signal. At the bottom of the UPB Appliance Module is a pass-thru outlet to allow for plug-in of a single appliance, up to 15-amps/0.5 horsepower, to be controlled remotely with any UPB compatible controller. On the front of the Appliance Module is an LED indicator light which will light up “blue” when the load is turned off and will not illuminate when the load is on.
The Leviton Security & Automation UPB Plug-In Appliance Module uses Universal Powerline Bus technology for superior performance and reliability. Similar to the standard X10 protocol, Universal Powerline Bus technology uses your existing power wires, so no rewiring is necessary in order to use this switch. But UPB benefits include its higher reliability, since its signal strength is stronger than X10, with increased electrical noise resistance. UPB products are NOT X10 compatible.
In 2012, HAI was acquired by Leviton, with the transitional name, “HAI by Leviton” applied. Mid 2013, “Leviton Security & Automation” was formalized.
The previous HAI part number for this product was 60A00-1.
