Snap-in connectors are designed to work with Keystone, QuickPort and Modular style wall plates. These wall plates typically have from one to six inputs (ports) for snap-in connectors. Installing a snap-in wall plate allows you make wiring connections and runs inside your wall. You can use various snap-in connectors to customize your snap-in wall plate with telephones, networking, audio/video (AV) components, speakers and other cable connections. Having a central connection point on the wall is a great way to add a professional finish to your installation and is a simple way to manage your in-wall wiring setup that provides quicker and easier terminations.
Leviton's Category 5 Connector is designed for use with all QuickPor't compatible products.
Connector body is high-impact, fire-retardant plastic rated UL 94V-0. Spring wire contacts are high quality phosphor bronze, plated with 50 micro-inches of gold over 100 micro-inches of nickel for lowest contact resistance, maximum life. Connector 110 IDC contacts are solderplated phosphor bronze.
The Category 5 Connectors is an individual snap-in style, and provides compliance with TIA/EIA-568-B specifications. The connectors is also in compliance with all National Electrical Codes and FCC Part 68; UL listed; and independently UL Certified to meet Category 5 requirements. All plastics used in construction of the connector bodies are fire-retardant with a UL flammability rating of 94 V-0. Termination of all connectors are 110-style IDC with solder-plated phosphor bronze contacts and 50 micro-inches of gold. The connector provides a ledge directly adjacent to the 110-style termination against which the wires can be directly terminated and cut in one action by the installer.
