Terrible, 3 of 4 failed
First, let me say that Smarthome is a great company and has excellent customer service! I love their Insteon system and have a very large system. I have a been using Insteon products since 2007 utilizing the ISY-994IR as the centerpiece of the system. I just moved to a home almost 4,000 sqft taking most of my system with me except the thermostats. I previously had Venstar thermostats however elected to give Insteon branded thermostats a try. I ordered two (heat pump versions), one for the main part of the house and one for the guest rooms. Within one day of installation, the first one on the main system stopped working (flashed blue screen the dark alternating). Attempted a factory reset which lasted 2 hours and right back to flashing again. I called Smarthome and they arranged to send a replacement. The other on the guest room system continued for 2 weeks. The replacement arrived and was installed only to have the other one fail. Then the replacement failed, all flashing blue then dark. I called Smarthome who was quick to offer replacements HOWEVER I chose not to replace them but to return to the Venstar thermostats and I ordered them from Smarthome. It is possible that the entire batch of Insteon thermostats Smarthome received was defective but I wasn't taking anymore chances. SMARTHOME CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT THE ENTIRE TIME as they have been over the years. It was no hassle to replace them or to ship back and order the Venstars. They ALWAYS stand by their products and if I was rating their customer service I give 5 stars but I'm rating a product.

Works as Advertised
I just installed the heat pump thermostat, 2732-242. Installation was straight forward with no surprises. I have tested it in all modes and it seems to function well. I had no problem linking it to the Insteon Hub.
The "emergency heat" mode functioned ok, but is awkward to initiate. The Honeywell I replaced had a simple "Emergency Heat" mode just like cool, heat , auto, and off.
I can not find in the Owner's Manual the circumstances that bring on the Aux. heat. For example, the old thermostat turned on the Aux. heat if the set point was 2 degrees or more above the actual temperature. I also can not find anywhere on the thermostat that indicates if the Aux. heat is on. These are important issues since operation of the Aux. electric heat strips is very expensive. I want to know exactly what circumstances turn on electric heat strips and when it is operating. If I am missing something obvious, I would like to know what it is.
I have only tested this thermostat for a short time, but it seems to function well and does everything promised.
