Has anyone been able to program HouseLinc to send an email when the temperature on the Insteon Thermostat has reached a certain degree (or any other house reading)?

| Are you asking because you don't know how or because it seems to fail for no good reason? If the latter, in HL v .56 that functionality is broken. .76, apparently officially release, claims to fix that problem. |

You can set a particular mode temperature and use that as a trigger. For example, set heating to 70º and "Heating Active" (or "Heating Inactive"-there's a 2º window) as the trigger. You can use cooling as the trigger, if desired.
If you do not want heating or cooling to occur and you do not need an immediate notification, you can use time as a trigger and include "Temperature = 70º." Because triggers are "or" type statements, you can include a test every half-hour or every hour or whatever in the same event. |

Thanks for the responses. I see how my original question could have been more detailed. Sorry about that. I was thinking of this scenario specifically, but it would be nice to have other notifications via email.
Scenario: "Send me an email when the temperature in the house is greater than 75 degrees." The main reason for wanting this notification is that we had an error/bug last week that cause the heater to turn on (still not sure why). It was above 80 when we noticed. It would be nice to receive an email stating the higher than normal temperature in the house.
I tried a few settings in houselinc but couldn't figure this specific one out. I think Stu's solution is in line with what I am trying to do.... |

| Keep in mind, when creating the event, that HL does not monitor the state of a device. An event must have a trigger, such as a device changing state or a particular time, to initiate the event. |
