Hello All I recently, today, installed my first Keypadlinc to replace a dead Leviton 16400. I Coded 4 buttons to X10 successfuly, tested....turn on and off, dimming, brightening, turning on and off. Really impressed with unit.
Installed into device box checked operation.....nothing! other than LED brightening for buttons pressed. Checked all wiring,ok, redid all wiring, factory reset, recoded X10...still nothing. Not very impressed. LEDs reacts to X10 signal from other controller but will not send X10

| If the device works as expected in one location (your test bench) but not another (your wall switch box), that suggests either a wiring problem or a signal problem specific to a location. I'd put it back on the bench, reprogram and retest. Once you do confirm the keypad is operating as expected, I'd start looking for a signal absorption problem on the breaker of the devices which are no longer responding. |

| The keypad doesn't communicate to x10 via RF, so being enclosed wouldn't make any difference. Squishing wiring into a box could stretch or bend wires and change the properties of a marginal electric connection--if a poor neutral connection was arcing within the wire nut, that could interfere with signal transmission. Could be the interference (or x10 bridging between the two sides of your split-single phase utility feed) is intermittent, too. |

Master Electrician --- Connections are sound --- Phases are bridged from original X10 installation. No phases to phase issues prior. It's just frustrating that it all worked impressivly before fitting into device box.
I will confirm connections and phase bridge again. |

That the buttons respond to, but do not transmit X10 signals is odd. What are you using to send the X10 signal to the button? Can you remotely turn the LED both on and off?
What specific device are you using to couple the opposite legs of the split, single-phase electric supply. |

I am using a Home Director remote from 1996. It remotely turn the LED on and the LED off. My bridging device in a capacitor, I don't recall the uF right now. |
