Hi friends,

I would like to have a simple way to control my:
  • Garage
  • Lights
  • AC


using my Android smart phone through home WiFi system. What is the equipments I need for that?

There are several options for this, but I would imagine Insteon is the one most used by the folks around this forum.

For this you would require a network-enabled controller, such as smartlinc or ISY-99


I also suggest a couple of access points and filters (for any potential trouble-causing electronics).

Isn't UAE 220 volt/50 Hz.?

Yes it is. And for the Ac is 240volt.

Electricity Around The World.
Does show 220 volts 50 cycles and a different type wall outlet.
So Insteon will not work.
Almost all the Insteon modules are strictly 120 volts 60 cycles and their plugs will not match your countries outlets.

Most home automation devices available in Europe and Asia will work, so that's where to look.

Nearly all of the America's uses a different power standard than the UAE, so that's not where to look.
