I have the controller registered and working with http://smartlinc.smarthome.com/, and ports are forwarded on the router.
I'm using the Android app to control the lights, and that works. I set it up by clicking I'm an existing user and logged in with the creds I entered to register the device. The problem is when I switch from 3G/4G to WiFi or vice-versa. I lose control of the 2412N. I have to remove the smartlinc from the app and re-add it, then it works.

Is this expected behavior or is something amiss? I even tried telling the app to not keep me logged in, but to no avail.
Thanks,
Rich

Do you need to remove and re-add the SmartLinc if you simply log out of one network and then log in to the other?

You're correct. Try Add SamartLinc and then log in to the newer network. I'm using iOS, but I'm guessing that the options are the same.

Which version of the Android app are you using? Which Android device?

If you hit the back button on your Android device, you should get to a Homes screen where you can select which SmartLinc to connect to--your home, your vacation home, your office, etc. If you leave the coverage area of your wifi network, can't you back out to that screen, then select your system to reconnect?

I just did the update to 1.2.3 build 25 on an older phone to test, and the switch from wifi to cell network seems to work okay for me.

If you use a computer to log onto the Smartlinc.smarthome.com site, are you able to access your SmartLinc successfully using both the I'm at home and the I'm not at home links?

It wont connect when I'm on the LAN and click, I'm not at home. I assume that's because the source and destination info in the packets are the same public IP. You generally cant loop back like when the dynamic nat public ip is the same as the one you're port forwarding. Does it work for you that way?

But it does work when I'm outside my LAN on the net

I can when I'm at home, but I think that depends on which router you are using--some support loop-back, some don't.

I'm not at home right now, so my test was switching between a public wifi and the phone's 3g connection.
