Hello, As a preliminary purchase of the Insteon system, I bought four items and installed them yesterday: Smartlinc 2412N, In-LineLinc dual band relay 2475SDB, SwitchLinc Dimmer dual band 2477D and an ApplianceLinc outdoor module 2456S3E.
These control lighting as follows: 1. Inlinelinc: Outdoor garage lights that were on a photocell, no switch. 2. Switchlinc: Outdoor patio lights. 3. Appliancelinc: Landscape lighting (12V) through a transformer.
I set up one room, "outdoor lighting" with three scenes, one for each device above. I had no difficulty linking each device with it's respective scene.
I can manually switch each device on and off at the switch. I can turn on and off all of the devices through the smartlinc webpage and the iPhone app.
The problem is using the timer function with smartlinc. Whenever I set up an on/off time for the appliancelinc, the swichlinc (patio lights) also turn on even though there is no timer scheduled for them. I want the landscape lighting and garage lights both come on at sunset and off at 01:00 AM and the patio lights to only come on when manually switched (eventually I plan on installing a keypad inside the house to achieve this).
Maybe I should do a factory reset and start over. |

A factory reset - in my opinion - is a real pain... You would have to reset the devices as well as the controller. You should try to manually activate te scene you are having trouble with from the 2412. See if you accidentally linked a wrong switch. If so, then just unlink that device and you should be good to go. |

Thanks for your reply. When I manually activate each scene from the 2412 webpage, each device works properly. Only one device is shown as linked to each respective scene. It is only when using the timer function that both the appliancelinc and switchlinc turn on (and eventually, off) simultaneously even though no timer is scheduled for the switchlinc. |

It sounds like the SwitchLincLinc was inadvertantly linked to another scene or programmed with an x10 code, either during setup or perhaps even during testing at the factory.
My recommendation is to factory reset only the SwitchLinc module, re-link it only to its intended scene(s), then verify any scenes to which it is linked have correct timer settings. |
