or blue or red or yellow.
Smarthome no longer offers LED color specific change kits for their Swithchlinc switches, haven't for quite a while. I want to drum up support to bring back color change kits by color instead of the multiple color change kits.
We're living in a world of being green, even Smarthome promotes it when it suits their bottom line. I like green in my wallet. LOL. More green in my wallet means I buy more from Smarthome, but not when they try to milk me for every dollar they can get! I look at the price of a switch (now really high since RF only, but that's another topic) add in the color change kit, 75% of which I throw away, and I think twice about upgrading any more switches. Switchlinc switches are a luxury, not a necessity. Think about it Smarthome!
Once upon a time you could buy red or blue LED change kits, now you have to buy the kits that includes all four colors. I get two blues per set and the other 6 six sets are worthless to me. This has to be a ploy by Smarthome so soak us for more money. Please don't give me the inventory BS. They make four colors. They could very easily package them by color and charge another dollar or two to cover inventory costs (if that's even an issue). Who wants four colors? I want blue, I don't want the other three colors. What a waste and added expense!
Smarthome, stop milking us for additional $. If you must increase the price of of LED change kits to 9.99 or so, fine. You win, I win. Dang! I hate that you milk us wherever you can!
Smarthome, your nickel and dime philosophy is turning people off. |

I'm not sure how much of a conspiracy the multi-color change kits are, but it certainly doesn't align with what most people want.
How many people actually want a rainbow of light colors throughout their home? Each room in a different color? Not many I'll wager. Most people probably want a particular color such as blue or red or whatever replicated everywhere.
Note that for the other color change kits such as the face kits, SH does the right thing and sells these by color, ie they don't make you buy a kit with white, ivory, black, brown, etc. in order to get a black face.
I agree that SH should sell the LED color change kits as separate colors. I was thinking about changing the colors on my switches but decided to not do so until they begin selling separate color kits again.

The only kit with all the same light pipes is the Frosted ones. Being on sale. Probably a poor seller or bing cleared out for discontinuance. |

The BR is green, so we use green pipes. Yellow is pleasant the media room. Red for anything involving heating and blue for anything involving cooling.
But, I concur. Separate color kits should be available as they once were. |
