I have a fairly new installation of HouseLinc with a small number of devices to control, including anb I/O Linc for my garage door. I had it all working together fine. Now I log into the computer again, bring up HouseLinc and nothing is working. The program does not even recognize my 2-way modem. Has anybody else had a problem like this?

Click on the Windows Start button, then the arrow to the right of Shutdown, then Restart.

Avoid the issue by not using the Windows Sleep option while HouseLinc is running. There's a problem with the way Windows wakes from sleep that can cause the operating system to stop communicating with USB accessories like the HouseLinc Modem.

If you want to save energy but still avoid the conflict, the Windows Hibernate function hibernates and resumes without any trouble--although your events still won't work while the computer is offline.

I experienced this issue TODAY and I'm not sure what happened. HouseLinc didn't recognize the modem and after setting it up again, all my Devices and Scene information is GONE. The system has synced everything up gain but the ROOM and Device names and Events, etc are all gone. This is frustrating.

Of course, I used the SAVE command many times so I have my .XML files saved in the hopes that I could use the to restore, but unfortunately, it seems that what's provided only lets you restore the HouseLinc 1 .SLD files.

Anyone know why the 2-way model failed to recognize?

Anyone know how to reload the saved .XML file HouseLinc 2 file settings back into the Houselinc software?

Thanx Gregory. What you describe is what I saw also. What Tfitzpatri8 says about Sleep and Hibernate is no doubt true and I will watch out for it, but it did not cause my problem because I did not leave HouseLinc running (not even its icon down in the sys tray). I did notice that my installation previously had "Beta" in the title bar and no longer does. Perhaps a transition occurred?
