I replaced a 2476S(Switchlinc Relay) With a 2486DWH8(Keypadlinc Dimmer).

The Circuit has 4 (Onite E27 E26 8w LED 5050 SMD 44 LEDS Corn Light Bulb Lamp (from Amazon))and had been in use with the 2476S for several months. Outside Lights running ~8 hrs/day.

Within Hours on installing the 2486DWH8, I noticed one on the bulbs was discolored. I Removed the bulb and it was very charred and very badly melted the other 3 looked fine. Within 2 days the other 3 bulbs were showing varing degrees of charring and melting. 1 again in full melt down mode.

I Replaced all 4 bulbs and switched from the 2486DWH8 back to the 2476S and have been running for over a week no problems. I was not trying to dim the LED’s with the 2486DWH8. I was Sending On Off only from an ISY99 Controller. Note ther is a .1 Second Ramp Rate that cannot be set to 0.

Any ideas why these bulbs reacted so badly with the 2486DWH8?

Any load that is not specifically designed to be dimmed can be destroyed by a TRIAC dimmer because they are constantly "switching" even at 100% brightness. Some loads can withstand this switching, other cannot.
