No local storage. The camera can automatically send images via FTP (internet) to an FTP server in the "cloud". Setting up an FTP server (on any web hosting service like "Go Daddy") is cheap and not terribly difficult, but not plug-and-play, and viewing the images will be primitive. Before buying the SH, I looked into some turnkey solutions, such as dropcam.com. That one looks nice, but you are locked in to their service, and the camera did not seem like a good value for the money.
There may be some turnkey solutions for the SH camera that I have not found. The camera is a re-branded Foscam, so check their website too.
