Is it possible to get just the 2413UH PLM without the houselinc software? All I need is the 2413UH PLM I already have the latest houselinc software. All I find on Smarthomes site is the kit with everything.
You're paying only for the modem. The software is free, as are software updates. You do not need to buy the modem to download it.

The software can be downloaded freely from the Smarthome web site, but it requires a HouseLinc-enabled interface like the 2413UH to work. It is essentially a kit--you buy the hardware and it includes the download link so you can use the software written for it.
Thanks guys. Again Smarthome not too smart. This is how product is labeled on their site HouseLinc - INSTEON Desktop Software with USB Interface (Dual-Band). Should be 2413UH PLM (Dual Band) with free Houselinc - Insteon Desktop Software. Under Requirements reads: Requirements:
HouseLinc requires the included HouseLinc-enabled Modem and is not compatible with other INSTEON PowerLinc interfaces HouseLinc Enabled PowerLinc Modem, included This leads me to beleive that I am buying the software and the PLM is included. I would like to meet the people that write up the descriptions for their products.
