I have two Venstar thermostats that have been working perfectly for a few months. They recently started turning completely off. I do not have any scenes programmed and I do have any devices linked to the thermostats. Any suggestions?

There are two ways to turn off a Venstar thermostat--a user tapping the Mode button on the front, or, if it is an Insteon-enabled model, using an Insteon controller to turn it off.

(By off, I mean not in heat or cool or auto mode. The ambient temperature should still be displayed. Can you confirm that it is?)

I'm a little confused by your description of the issue. It sounds like you paid extra to get an Insteon-enabled unit, but you say it isn't linked to anything, that doesn't make sense to me. Why not? What other controllers are in the house, and were they *ever* linked? Did you link something as a controller when you first got it, say a SmartLinc scene that went unused for a while then recently was repurposed? If you have HouseLinc, look at the Links tab of the thermostat adapter to see if this is the case.

It is linked to isy99 controller but not linked to any other insteon device.

It is completely off. Screen is blank. Both units seem to turn off at the same time so they are linked in some way.

If no numbers or letters are displayed, that suggests a wiring problem cutting power to the units. Perhaps a conductor is broken and making/breaking contact when the room where the furnace is located warms and cools over the course of a day.
