What is the best source for initially getting to understand INSTEON and scenes?

I have the following 2 quandries currently:

(1) I have Momentary C working with my IO Linc and the RemoteLinc. How can I get HouseLinc and my PLM to use the same setup?

(2) How can I use my PLM to interrogate the status of the IO Linc?

Thanx for the tip, stusviews! That works nice and is exactly what I was looking for.

Your cell phone uses a different interface, in particular, one that can access a LAN or WAN. HouseLinc is not capable of that.

However, HouseLinc does report the status of both the I/O Linc relay and sensor. Select the I/O Linc from the Device list and, under the Properties tab, select Refresh.

After reading recent posts on this subject, I have the following question: If my cell phone can interrogate the status of my IO Linc, why can't my HouseLinc setup do the same thing?
