I'm trying many times to program this camera, really I don't understand what they talk about with the program Active X, for what is for, and how I login in this camera, or the process how to set up this camera. appreciate any help. thanks Carlos juan-jona@hotmail.com |

I am. IE9 and never an issue with performance or security either currently or historically. |

Posted - 07/14/2012 : 8:18:28 PM I have practice with the new units Smarthome are shipping, the problem you are having is due to the ActiveX settings in Internet Explorer on your machine. When using the standard interface optimized for Internet Explorer and its ActiveX controls, you need to allow it to install but sometimes the publisher is unsigned and the default for IE9 is to have this stopped, and not allow the user to prompt this process to proceed anyway.
If you want a easy solution, use Firefox or Chrome, and use the server push mode for those browsers, neither of those browsers have ActiveX and will not have this display issue.
Or the other approach would be to change the settings in ActiveX to prompt you to install and/or run unsigned ActiveX controls through the tools/security section in Internet Explorer. Note make sure to use PROMPT, do not used ALLOWED, as setting ActiveX controls to allowed in the menus for security leaves you more open to browserjacking with IE(rare but frustrating hack that takes control of IE and forces virus download)
IF you do not have good experience with this you may want to just use push mode. |

Posted - 07/14/2012 : 5:20:45 PM If I understand correctly, you have a foscam ip camera.
ftp://ftp.foscam.us/incoming/IPCamSetup.exe
That will find your camera on the network and give you the correct IP Address. When you have the ip address, just go to your browser and select "Server push mode"
Good luck. |
